We deliver to addresses across New Zealand and internationally.

If we are unable to deliver to your address, we will contact you to discuss available options.

Delivery costs

  • whether the order includes bulky, oversized or special freight items.

Free delivery

Electrical Direct may offer free delivery on eligible orders over a specified order value.

Where a free delivery threshold applies, it will be clearly shown on our website or during checkout.

Unless stated otherwise, free delivery thresholds are calculated exclusive of GST.

Free delivery may exclude:

  • oversized items;
  • bulky products;
  • heavy products;
  • long-length items;
  • supplier-direct items;
  • special-order products;
  • rural or remote delivery surcharges;
  • items requiring specialist freight.

If your order includes excluded items, additional delivery charges may apply. We will contact you if this affects your order.

Dispatch timeframes

We aim to process and dispatch orders as quickly as possible during normal business hours.

Dispatch timeframes may vary depending on:

  • product availability;
  • supplier lead times;
  • order size;
  • payment confirmation;
  • courier or freight pickup times;
  • public holidays or peak trading periods.

If an item is not immediately available, we may contact you to discuss next steps, including substitution, backorder, partial dispatch or refund.

Delivery timeframes

Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may vary depending on your location, courier network conditions and product availability.

Urban deliveries are generally faster than rural or remote deliveries.

We will do our best to provide accurate delivery information, but we cannot guarantee delivery dates unless this has been specifically agreed in writing.

Tracking

Where tracking is available, tracking details will be provided once your order has been dispatched.

Tracking updates are provided by the courier or freight provider and may take time to appear after dispatch.

Split deliveries

Orders containing multiple products may be sent in separate shipments, depending on stock availability, supplier location or freight requirements.

If your order is split, you may receive more than one delivery and more than one tracking notification.

Click and collect

If click and collect is available for your order, this option will be shown at checkout or advised by our team.

Please wait until you receive confirmation that your order is ready before coming to collect.

Delivery address

Please ensure your delivery address is complete and accurate when placing your order.

Electrical Direct is not responsible for delays, failed delivery or additional costs caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery information.

If an order is returned to us because of an incorrect address or failed delivery, additional shipping charges may apply before the order is resent.

Authority to leave

Some deliveries may be left at the delivery address if authority to leave is selected or applied by the courier.

If you choose authority to leave, the parcel may be delivered without a signature. Electrical Direct is not responsible for loss or damage after delivery has been completed by the courier, unless required by law.

If your delivery location is not secure, we recommend using a delivery address where someone can receive the order.

Damaged deliveries

Please inspect your order as soon as possible after delivery.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us promptly with:

  • your order number;
  • photos of the damaged product;
  • photos of the packaging;
  • a description of the issue.

Please keep the product and packaging until we have reviewed the issue and advised next steps.

Missing or delayed deliveries

If your order has not arrived within the expected timeframe, please contact us and we will help investigate with the courier or freight provider.

Courier delays can occur due to weather, network disruption, rural delivery, public holidays, peak periods or other circumstances outside our control.

Bulky, oversized and special freight items

Some products may require special freight due to size, weight, length or handling requirements.

This may apply to items such as long products, bulky ventilation products, cable, large distribution products, supplier-direct products or other items that cannot be sent by standard courier.

Additional delivery charges may apply. Where possible, these charges will be shown at checkout or confirmed before dispatch.

Risk and delivery

Risk in the products passes to you once the order has been delivered to the delivery address provided, unless otherwise required by law.

Ownership of products passes once full payment has been received.
